Penny Jones, our operations service administrator, recently participated in a mission trip to Nicaragua

“On September 19, 2017 a team of 10 from Lee Road Baptist Church left for Managua, Nicaragua to perform vision clinics at 5 different locations around Nicaragua.  We went to Ciudad Sandino, Tipitapa, Masaya, Jiloa, and Los Cedros.  The sites we visited were all different and each had its challenges for us to set up the clinic but everybody adapted wonderfully.  Mario and Aracelis Reyes were our main contacts and they trained the local churches on what help we would need.  They did a wonderful job training them without ever even seeing how we would perform the clinics.  With the help of the local churches and Christ for the City International, we were able to give out over 500 pairs of glasses to local residents and the local church got to talk to each one of them about Christ.  There were over 37 salvations and numerous re-dedications to Christ so we count it a success.  I think everybody should go on at least one overseas mission trip to see how people in less fortunate countries live.  They may not have much but they are a really content people.  Learn more about the work of Christ for the City International here.”
